I have been way too long away from fishing!  The weather has been nutz!!!

But I ventured out Monday to try out horseheads along the rocks and to set out some catfish jugs.

The only thing I caught on the horseheads were a bunch of green carp.  They were all over the place at Miller's Cove.  Especially just west of the mouth of the cove.  10 - 12 feet of water.

But it was fun even if they  were trash fish.  😉  😉

I messed around for a while and checked my jugs.  20 out of 22 hooks were clean.  No fish.  bummed out I went on home.

Tuesday morning I ventured back out to run jugs and to see if I could catch stripers instead of perch.  😉

I caught only 2 catfish out of 22 hooks.  I contacted my catfish guru, Tom Wyatt, and he told me he thought that the gar had cleaned my hooks.  Oh well......

I caught a 5# and a 25#.  25 # released to make babies.

After pulling in my jugs, I motored around and started pounding the rock.  The shad haven't moved into the rocks yet but the stripers apparently like the warmth.

I kept these for the dinner table.

I ventured out into the middle of the lake and started marking fish coming through.  I had a 3/4 ounce sassy head with a 5" white ice Zoom paddle tail with tail dyed in chartreuse game scent.  It was constant fish catching for about an hour.  Then I lost the school and couldn't find them again.

My shoulder got tired so I quit.  😉

Fish were running a little deep so I would cast out, count to 15, then start retrieve.  Lots of fun for sure.

Since I like to fish for those "green carp" and I can't find it on any of the maps here on 6OG, would you be so kind as to tell me where Miller's cove is located?

Heading to Bob Sandlin 25th with a group of x-workers. Will be looking for the green carp.
(Annual fishing trip) hope wind and weather are kind.

I like the pics of the graph. To protect my shoulders I now cast with my arms to my side, and twist my body, with the Ugly Sticks I can cast a mile like this. I let those big catfish go also, because I fell sorry for them when they look you in the eye and start to grunt.

Great post Ax, as always.

Lot of good long casting videos on youtube; has helped me quite a bit.
