I could spare ya all the details but I won't.  [smile]

Launched at Mill Creek.  Note to self:  Do NOT launch a pontoon boat at a ramp that has no courtesy dock.  It's tough to get in the boat as you can't pull up close enough to the bank at Mill Creek.  And when you try to jump up on the boat....your Crocs form a suction, you lose upwards momentum, fall back into the water, and then.....eventually, swim around to the back of the boat and climb the ladder.....quite a feat on 10/14.  10/15 saw me back at HighPort.

Both days basically identical.  I looked for stripers and/or sand bass.  Both days practically identical...nada...except for a few small sand bass caught on hell pets.

I also caught a nice crappie on a hell pet.  [smile]  You can't get skunked with hell pets on board.  [smile]

I tried to find catfish and didn't do very well there either.  I used lil smokies and chicken livers.....

Those little rascals can suck those livers off before you can grab the pole.  [smile]

I did catch a few on slabs......photos provided for your entertainment.

I didn't see anyone doing much.  Today I prolly saw 3 other boats the whole time I was out.  Amazing.  But a beautiful day!!!

I'm thinking the lake hasn't turned over either.  It's sorta greenish in areas.  Anyone know how cool surface temps have to be to flip the lake over???

Anyway, I'm taking a few days off from the madness.  [smile]

A ghost minnow caught on a slab.  These babies will stick ya and it hurts.

Crappie caught on a hell pet.  I'm thinking I should buy some minners and take them out....

Channel cats tried to run but I snagged 'em.  [smile]

I caught the kitty and ghost on the RL100 series slab.  Dennis Curtis suggested I name it the Skunk Buster as it'll catch anything and ya come home smelling like fish.

Ax,

Launched at Preston Shores about 5pm. Fished GP to the back of LM and caught 3 decent LMB and about 5 small sandies. Sandies on a square bill and the bass on an orange spinner. Caught one out from under a catamaran.

I need to get that oil to you. Call me when you get some time.

Ghost minnows don't have the forked tail and pectoral fin that sticks out like that.....and given that Axman got stuck by it and it hurt, I'm leaning towards baby catfish.  Although the color sure looks like ghost minnow!

I'll do some research.  I was hoping it was a ghost minnow because that could be a record.  [smile]

And ghost minnows DO stick ya.  And they hurt!!!

I stand corrected-that is definitely a ghost minnow. Catch them in my net when they don't slide through the holes but don't ever remember getting stuck by them.  Will be more careful next time.

Still think it a channel cat. Ghost minnow does not have the top fin I think I see in the first pic. Guess we will just have  to catch it again and let  it grow to see for sure.[wink]
