Took out good friend Roy Duff. We be lazy. Left Mill Creek at 7 a.m. I reckon we were too late for the top water. 😉 We headed up into Big Mineral and hit the points on the east side. Wind was perfect for drifting those points. Roy threw top water (the eternal optimist) and I threw Belly Spinners with Magic Shad plastics and white grubs. Fish ate 'em up. We fished til prolly 10:15 or so and went in and cleaned fish. A good mess for sure. Nothing big. Biggest fish prolly 19". It was a great day!! Every one was catching fish and most folks were playing nicely. As I've said before, when you are chasing splashes right now, the fish are small. What we did was slow down, bounce slabs and plastics off the bottom. That's where the bigger fish are. Great day!! Lure of the day: White Belly Spinner with sparkle paint!! White grub with dyed tail.

Ax, thanks for all the good info. Me and buddy Fred are gonna hit the big water Tue. Hope we can replicate your success. We'll be on the other end of the lake this time. You are right on the money about fishing under the small schoolies. At the dam last week I counted an a-rig down 6-10 clicks and caught some nice box fish.

Hey Ax, nice report. Are you making those belly spinners now? They're somewhat like something I saw in a Basspro mailout, I think I like the looks of the ones you're showing better though. I'll look on your site. I need to get some more slabs as well.
