Pattern continues to be the same.....lots of fish!!!  [smile]

Dead sticking is the only thing I'm doing right now.  I fish with 4 rods when dead sticking and I cannot slab with 4 rods.  [smile]

I was on fish but not much happening.  Then, it dawned on me that I didn't have my splasher running.  Turned that baby on and the fish started coming in under the boat in greater numbers.

I also believe that thumping the boat makes a world of difference.  The splasher is a good high frequency fish simulator however the thumping gives a low frequency beat that I believe travels further underwater.

Anyway, thumping and splashing seemed to make 'em go wild.  [smile]

I was fishing with a baby bass fluke on a 1.5 ounce coho head to get the lure down there.  I wiggle the rod tip every 45 seconds or so and they'll usually hit it right after the jiggle when the lure is falling.

Awesome day on the water!!

Ax thanks for report.  I'm curious how a Carolina rig would work with a fluke - may have to give it a try on my next outing.

Ross, I think the Carolina rig would not work as well as there is slack in the line. When the fish hit the dead stick fluke you have to be ninja quick on the hook set. Then again, with the fluke not having any weight on it they might hold on to it longer. So nevermind this entire Post! 😀
Let us know how you do!

Ross, have you tried it?

I also saturate my plastics in shad spray in an effort to get them to hold it in there mouths longer 'cause my hook set ain't as fast as it used to be.

Braided line with a mono leader has helped me the most in dead sticking.

You'll prolly do pretty good on small mouths.  [smile]
