Launched from Mill Creek about 9:15 a.m.  Headed out behind Hog Island and fished the birds for a bit.  They were all liars.  [smile]

Ran into Tom Wyatt.  He was out looking for catfish.  He's an expert at that.  I need to go with him one day and see how he does it.  [smile]

I was fishing for sand bass because the wife likes them better than striper.  So I started out just drifting in 10 feet of water using small slabs.  Caught a couple of stripers at SBP but no size to them.

Headed over to the Okie shore and marked good amount of fish in 16 fow.  Still using 1 ounce ghost minnow slabs and picked up more small stripers; no sand bass.

Tom sent me a text stating that he had found sand bass but I could see him a ways off and was catching where I was thinking surely the sandies would move in.

Went out and drifted off the tip of North Island.  More stripers.  [smile]  Nothing over 14" though.

Ran into Guy Martinez later at SBP.  Like me, they were catching stripers but small ones.

Headed out to the BSC.  Fished the Small Fish Hole and caught a 16" striper.  Still no sandies.  Tried cohos, sassys and tail zingers but slabs were all I could get them to hit.

Fished around Goose Island.  Just stripers for me but a couple of guys were trolling 4" sassy shads and catching sand bass.

Got a text from the wife saying she was headed home with ribs for dinner so I figured that was a good time to quit for the day.

I was amazed that I didn't catch any sand bass at all.  But I ain't complaining.

I had striper today for lunch.  [smile]

BTW, a good friend of mine who is a professional guide always rags me about my high-vis green line.  So yesterday, I did a test to see if the fish cared.

I guess he's right.  Clear line - 13 fish.  Green line - 12 fish.  Guess I should change all my reels out now.  [smile]  [smile]

Just use clear fluorocarbon leader, no need to change the color line out

Wow nice reels, I am making a new rig to try for deadsticking, it's a drop shot wacky rigged eel with two teasers above with a 2oz slab for a weight. I will call it a vertical Alabama.

I made St Louis ribs yesterday, I cut each rib off and cooked them in a pressure cooker with 1 cup of cheap sauce for 1/2 hr. then under the broiler for 15 min with Hoisin sauce to crisp. Almost as good as in the smoker for 4 hr..

This was the law 3 years ago, has it changed, I don't know

MY Interpretation of both TX & OK license laws.
• Anyone 16 + under can fish TX waters without license
• Anyone 13 + under can fish OK waters without license
• 14 and 15 yr. old from OK,TX,AK,KS etc. don’t need license in OK water

• TX residents over 65 but born after 1931 NEED to purchase a Senior Resident license to fish TX waters.
• TX residents over 65 do not need license to fish OK waters
• OK residents over 65 do not need license to fish TX waters
• OK residents over 65 NEED to purchase a senior citizen license(good for life) to fish OK waters

Paokie is correct. TX won't let you fish for free. You can buy a senior package for about $20
