Took my neighbor and a friend of his out.  My neighbor is from Minnesota.  So, prior to picking them up, I didn't feel the need to tell them to dress appropriately.  It was cold.....32 when we launched.

I stop to get them.  They both had on jeans, tennis shoes, long sleeve T=shirts and jackets.

I asked them "are you sure you are warm enough?"

They both assured me they were.  Ok......

We get out just west of the 377 bridge and mark a huge school of fish.  I set up a drift and immediately we started getting hits on the dead heads.  I was "training" them so I wasn't fishing at that time.  The fish were hitting up and they kept missing the bite.

So, I let down a lure to demonstrate how the line would go slack during an upwards bite.  Within a few minutes, 14# fish in the boat.

I start another drift and I look and one guy is sitting down with his arms pulled into his jacket and his head pulled down inside.  He's freezing.

I look at my neighbor and he has his rod in the rod holder and his hands in his pockets.

Neither one of them had brought gloves........

I told 'em, guys, you ain't gonna catch fish like that.  They both looked at me and I felt sorry for them.

I said any time you guys want to go in let me know.  I mean, after all we'd been out there 30 minutes.

The both yelled "Uncle" and we headed in.

I think if they'd been prepared we could have really had a good time.

Oh well, I guess 32 in Minnesota is warmer than 32 in TX.  [smile]

I think 32 on Texoma is different than 32 in Minnesota! The humidity and wind make it way colder! Sorry you had to end the trip so quickly!

How many reports have been published laughing about Texans driving on ice - it's totally different here and up north.

Woosies like that make me ashamed I'm from Minnesota, the state that made Jesse Ventura a Governor and Al Sharpton a senator and Keith Ellison a Congressman. Was a great sight seeing "Welcome to Minnesota" in the rear view mirror. That was t-shirt and shorts weather to any Real Minnesotan ya' betcha.

As a rule I insist anyone on the boat have clothes for temps 20 degrees cooler than predicted. Even then there are times we get cold. The price you pay for a great day on the lady Texoma.

Forget the cold and inappropriate attire - you caught a 14 lb fish and didn't post a picture?  We all expect better execution from the mighty Axman.
