Long cold day I was to tired to post yesterday evening. Decided to launch at Caney creek with the wind out of the NW I figured it would be protected more. Took buddy David Beck with me and we were in the water at 6:30am. Didn't take long and I had shad in my tank. Headed out of Caney and found fish between the cross and Caney in 43 fow. We dropped some bait and the first fish in the boat was a 19 incher. We worked them over pretty good then action slowed. Went east and found a good school in the mouth of Caney. We wore them out there and decided to head over to Mac. Wind kicked up a little so we spot locked at a area I wanted to check and found fish. We picked at them a while and the wind wore me out so we moved. Decided to try Soldier. I found some fish on a drop off but not a lot. Got my stick out and started thumping the bottom of the boat. 5 minutes and the screen was lite up. David got a pull down and the fight was on. I could tell by the look on his face this wasn't a box fish[smile] After a lot of drag pulling I finally got a net on her. 30 inches and 15 pounds. David was a little excited to say the least. Finished up the day at Caney then came in at 4 or so. David kept a few for the table and the rest went back to swimming. Another great day on Big T.
