Finally got a low wind day so I loaded up early this morning ready to try out my new 17 gallon Sunshine bait tank. Launched at Highport and after some looking I found bait. 8 or 9 throws and I had a tank full of 3-4 inch threadfins. Head out to the okie side of treasure island lots of birds. Marked a few fish but nothing great. Headed to the tip of North island and saw birds working 1/2 mile to the NE. Got to the spot and found some good fish. I had 6 rods rigged for bait but I could never get but 2 baited. Limited in an hour or less. No overs but good box fish. Catch and released several more and watched the birds work. I was in 64 fow and the fish were coming through at 25fow. Really a nice day to be fishing.

Sounds like a very good day. Glad the Shad haven’t gone deep.

Way to go Joe. Anxious to get out there with you and try some bait fishing!  Hope to get a duck hunt lined up too. Hope a few have migrated in by now.
