I searched all recent topics for places to launch. Didn't see anything current (May 28).

Is there a place to launch on Texoma now? I guess there are a lot of roads that end in water, but anyplace to park?

Thanks.

If a band aid would let me fish, I'd put one on.

I think we need to start a pool guessing what day the first ramp will open. I bet it will be a while.

I looked around yesterday. I didn't see anything open. The two last options recently mentioned here were closed.

I am sure some NASA engineer can come up with an algorithm on lake levels and tell us when the first ramp will be useable , that is if we can keep him from bank-fishin and catching all  paokie's fishes.

Is there a steep road that can be used, and a parking place close by or far away that a guy could boat to, to retrieve his friends who parked the truck? Any options at all (any legal options that is).

I'd take a road where I could launch a kayak and not get a ticket or towed.

Yes, but what road? and some of us are to old and busted up to paddle a kayak around. That is why I have a boat! I'll leave that for the guys who aren't filled with scar tissue, titanium and polyethylene.

I guess I will be learning Tawokoni or Lewisville better this year. [frown]

Think catfish bay was one of the last to go under,so one of the first to open...platter tec. Area has a big dirt hill on the corps land... We used in the 90 flood... Take the dirt. Rd out of re. Area, the. First right... You will need 4x4. And lake has to go down a little to get. In there

I have this inflatable Pontoon. I cannot Kayak all day as my back will hurt. I can launch this from the bank but prefer a ramp to avoid getting muddy.

Pics as promised! Parking is another situation but it looks as if people are parking wherever they can....

Just spoke to Alberta creek office and she said you can park your truck and trailer in front of the office there. I would as a courtesy if they are open ask where exactly is fine for your parking. She said on the east side of the building is a no go as that is employee parking but the front would be fine. Better yet, it's all free. When leaving ramp aka parking lot it's better to leave due north very slowly about 50-75 yds to the east of the gas pumps until you get to the creek channel. Do not go between docks A and B because there is a rope between the two. This is my home marina so if I'm remembering correctly I would say due north slowly. Hope that helps.

I'm not going to start working on the "What's Open" pages until they are truly open, permanent, not half- a$$ed temporary options, Joe's cornfield or next to the regular gas pump. [biggrin]

Joes corn field is open too? Yippee! Can I park by the barn or should I go to the silo and park by the grain drill?

Thanks for the info. Probably the farthest ramp from my house on Trxoma, but I'll make do! Thanks for the info.

I have never been there, so don't know what it should look like. As long as I don't cut between boat docks and head due north I'll be ok?

Gotcha. I'll try it in the daytime.

Lake dropped .6' day before and .3' last night. Maybe in a few weeks we can use some of the real ramps.

Any roads, paths, trails, open areas, parking lots etc come open to launch a boat with the slowly receding water?
