I'm thinking of taking the yak out tomorrow morning to do a little fishing. Anyone want to join me? I'll be launching from the Texas side, just not sure where yet.

How did you do?  I've been trying to get myself to launch at Mill Creek and fish up in the creek but every time I look at the water, I change my mind.

I guess I don't have any confidence in fishing that muddy water....however, the guides are doing quite well right now.  Lots of small fish but fish.  [smile]

Actually got talked into fishing Dean Gilbert Lake in Pecan Grove Park over in Sherman. Caught a few decent largemouth including one that went 6lbs. Haven't been able to find anyone that wants to fish texoma from a kayak.

I am hoping it'll start to clear up soon down around Eisenhower or in the back of Little Mineral.  I'm ready and willing.....

Thought about launching at Ray Roberts one day.  Water is pretty decent and the sand bass are willing!!!

That makes 2 of us. Of course all the rain we're getting this week is going to set things back.

If you want a sand bass bite and some big ones don't over look Lavon!  They are plentiful right now.

Honestly, I've never fished Lavon. I try to avoid going anywhere near the bigger cities due to the amount of traffic and people.

I found a great place at Ray Roberts that is pretty close to the bank.  I'll have to check with the resident Ray Rob expert, Joe Slab, to see where is the closest place to launch....

Kayaking and go into fishing is great!  I have read there are some regulations  if you attempts to take fishing the public waters of Texas. Is that true? Though its good to go out on a Saturday morning.
