Hoping to buy a boat tomorrow.  Should have a little money for a new fish finder.  Not ready to spend more than about $600.  Anyone have a feel for what would be good to get? It will go on a 23' tritoon.  Thanks for any advice...    I cannot wait to go fishing... SOON!!!

Both lowrance and humminbird have down imaging units in your budget. I believe humminbird has one with both side imaging and downscan in that price range.

In that budget I'd get a Lowrance Elite 7, but I have not looked into any new products from raymarine or garmin.

I have the Lowrance Elite7 and love it. It was well worth what I paid and less than $600.

I went ahead and ordered the Elite 7 with CHIRP. Not exactly CHEAP, but I need all the help I can get. If anyone has installed one of these on a pontoon boat and have some installation suggestions, I love to hear them.

just took an HDS sonar and down imaging set up off the Falcon...I have a friend living in my trailer who is an electrician..he has helped me do 3 of them now...he would do a real good job for a reasonable rate...I usually do everything but the final wiring.....heading home in the morning...from Texoma..

Bass Pro is having sales on their HDS7 at about 700 as I recall.  Love mine.

When I got the Elite 7 at Bass Pro Shops it was on sale and less than the $600 and they would put a free chip in it an install for free. I did my own, but it took a lot of drilling and work.
