Hey Guys,
My name is Clay McCarter. This may sound like a dumb question but I'll ask anyway. I am always seeing reports/pics of 9-15 lb. fish however I have caught maybe 2 fish that big in 10 years. When I was a kid me and my dad used to catch that quality fish regularly. I have a boat with sonar/down imaging for 2 years now and fish Texoma very frequently. But in those two years the biggest striper I've caught was maybe 6 lbs. Do the bigger stripers have different habits that then box fish? I have literally fished hard from the Washita to 377 and haven't come across any big fish.. Used all the standard stuff, sassy shad, A-Rig, live bait, slabs, top water etc. Am I just that unlucky? I've caught boat loads of fish just not anything of any size. Ideas? And just to be clear, I'm not asking for directions to your honeyhole...just ideas on something I may be missing! Thanks in advance!

You're just unlucky! Keep doing what you're doing, you'll get in the bigguns!

True...the Washita to 377 comment was implying that Ive fished pretty much the entire lake over those 2 years. I rarely get skunked I just can't seem to find anything over 2 or 3 pounds. In fact a lot of my "big fish" were huge sand bass.

Get out there now. I have caught a bunch of big fish this time of year. Deadstickin East and west of 377 should be good. Big mineral can be good too!

I went last week out of Hiport and got skunked. I have to admit this is my first year to make an honest attempt at deadsticking so Im still experiencing the growth pains of that technique.  Last weekend  Couldn't find any birds and the schools I marked wouldn't cooperate. I will endeavor to persevere!
