Put my jugs out late Thursday and picked them up Friday morning.  Used lil smokies with garlic powder only.  About 2 hours before I put them out, I sprayed the zip lock back insides with shad spray I bought at Academy.

Good box of fish.  Biggest was about 12#.  I don't want any bigger than that so it was a great haul.  I supplied my surrounding neighbors with catfish fillets.........

Tried out some new noodles I made.  They worked out pretty good.  I had been using jugs made from 3 inch PVC pipe.  They are extremely easy to see but heavy, bulky when wrapping up main line, and I can't get many in my gear tub.

So, I made 15 noodles out of 3/4 inch PVC and put pink noodles on about 9 inches of it's 18 inch length.  I cut 8 inch pieces of 3/8 inch rebar and put inside so the noodle will stand up with a fish on.

First time I've put out all of them so they were scattered.  Design revision 1 is to put on noodle that is bigger in diameter.  The smaller 2 inch noodles are hard for me to see if they aren't standing up.  That means they'd be hard to see if you were motoring down the lake.  [frown]

But, it was a great day!  If you ain't jugging right now, you're missing out!!!

I use 12 inches of 3" pool noodle, 24 inches of pvc and 12 inches of 3/8 rebar. Lake Lavon is not as deep so I only use 45 feet of line with 2 hook rig,  wind line around pvc , let out til weight reaches bottom, allow 2 feet of slack, insert line loop thru eyelet and half hitch over end to set depth.  40 pounder can pull noodle under, but cannot keep it there.

The law changed two years ago.  You still have to put on name, address and phone number.  You are also supposed to attach a tag showing the date you set them out.

But they no longer have to be white.

Mine are half white (PVC) and half pink noodle (or orange noodle).

I bought some super wacky noodles.  The ID is the same as the OD of the normal noodles.

They are much easier to spot!!  And with the increase in OD, takes less time to wind up the main line.

I'm thinking about Revision II which would put less rebar in the PVC.  I don't think I need all 9 inches.
