I prefer to fish on Sunday. During the week isn't possible and Saturday is too crowded. Yesterday was perfect. Only saw maybe 20 fishing boats all morning.
Left out of GPP at sunlight with a tank full of bait and headed straight to Mac Creek. Held on the east ledge and had 9 good fish in the box by 8:00, but no overs. Packed up up to move at this point. Went looking around a little, and found birds working by the cross. Threw an A-rig through and picked up a double(16 and 21 inches). Threw the small one back - done! Back to the dock, boat gassed back up, gear put away, and fish cleaned by 10:30. This sure beats the heck out of the fishing we had a few years ago after the flood! As winter goes on, and these fish get fatter and school up more, things are going to be amazing. I hate it that most people don't fish in the winter and get to experience this, but then again, I really love not having to deal with all of the boats.
