Nice day with 0 wind. It took a little while to get something going but we marked some fish on a shallow edge in 18 ft that had some weird looking lumps right off of the bottom. 1 turn up and boom. We pulled about a half a dozen fish there. Then moved to investigate a few birds that seemed to be working loons up shallow (10ft). The fish were there (so were the loons). We had 2 and 3 on at at time for a little while but it soon petered out. We pulled 8 long fish while the loons just swam under the boat back and forth. I would have thought the loons would have ran them off but apparently not this time. After that we settled in another spot over deeper water and had steady action for a solid hour. A mixture of stripers and those big fat pig sand bass that have showed up this year. Some of those "whities" are pretty solid! All in all. A good day with repeat clients.

The fishing had definitely turned around considerably lately. I have caught some fish deadsticking but live bait has far out-produced them for me so far. Here's a pic of yesterday. Followed by the past few trips. Thanks for reading.

Very nice boxes of fish!  I believe things are definitely looking up.  We caught some dead sticking last week but it looks like I put the bait tank up a little too early.
