I have not been on this site for such a long time, I feel somewhat embarrassed.  It is because I always had something to say, when fishing was good, but a little ticked off when conditions were otherwise.  For whatever reason this time, I want to talk fishing, regardless of good or bad conditions.  I hate to reflect what I feel was terrible, as I was so used to catching fish, a limit, and good size fish.  This year in my opinion it was not the Striper Capital of the World.  It was a great year for my buying a Go-Pro camera.  But the best pictures I got was of the devastation of the flooding. with flooded businesses, and personal homes of people around the entire lake.  I got a great deal of seeing other guides fishing below the dam, but very few highlights of pulling nice fish, from the lake itself.  In my opinion, that conditions continues, but not for me.   I have stayed with the lake, had some highlights, great fishing, but those times were far and few between, for whatever reasons.   I have been sadden by the overall results from fishing on the lake, but lets face it, there are going to be times like this, its in the cards.   Its fishing, and as long as you are trying, its the only way to catch, as far as I know.   Its also been a hard year for me, as I had left knee replacement, and I am still suffering at this time.   It, as well as the fishing, is going to improve, and as long as I have my health, and a boat I will be one of the many out there, trying to get fish and enjoy the great out doors.   Last year was undoubtable one of my finest, and I really feel it was because of my fishing with umbrella rigs, and the high accumulation of fish, big fish.   I won several spots in the BLT Striper Tournaments, the last first place in December with a two fish catch, well over 30 pounds.  This year I won second, on my birthday, October 3, with a two fish catch of 6 pounds, total for 2 fish.  It was supported by the Flip Flop Foundation, with a total of nine teams, all suffering from tough fish conditions.   It was a tough year altogether folks, but hope all fishermen, whether catching fish or not, enjoyed the lake, one way or another.  Of my 22 years as a guide on Lake Texoma, I can still confess, I have never fished a better lake in my life for everyday catches and fun.   There are some of the best guides, best people, best places to stay overnight, and an overall gathering of conditions to spark ones idea of great fishing and accomodations.   I look forward to continuing my efforts to finding fish on the lake, and producing great times for customers, wanting to again experience The Striper Capital of the World.   I am again working on Operation-Welcome Home the free fishing trip for our wounded and disabled soldiers, November 20-22, and ask for support in whatever manner you might see, or at least your prayers for its success.   Anyway not a whole lot to show or say, about fishing techniques or results, but a reflection of one old guides look at the past 10 months on Lake Texoma.....Anyway, good fishing......

I have a Lakehouse at PK but I love fishing Texoma. The wide variety of fish there and the normally clear water and scenery are great.

Well said, Jerry.  We are all hanging in there as we know it's gonna get better.  There are still big fish in the lake and if you throw a cast net around the docks, you'll see the future for stripers on this lake are good!!!
