Ran out looking around the evening of the 20th.   I actually caught some fish, and marked the crap out of the fish.   It was no shoot out, but I felt good about the results as it has been hard for me the last few trips.   All I am going to say, is there is light at the end of the tunnel folks.  I feel another banner year, so get your crap out of moth balls, it wont be long.   All I caught was 17-18 inch fish, but man are they fat.   I talked with Jon Hoppis last night, and it was good to visit with him, as apparently we have both been so busy, no time to communicate.   Anyway folks, things getting better.  I have been trying a host of different methods, to get fish, but yesterday it was the same old rig, in 38 foot of water, with huge schools in the 65-80 foot of water.   Man I am getting the fever!   Goodbye fireplace, hello water.[wink]

I am sure it is the warming weather, and calm seas.   I went out again the following day, and caught about the same number of fish, and small, but fat.  Tomorrow seems like it will get really cold again, and as I type we are getting a light rain.   I really guess I have not been doing that bad, as I have only spent a couple hours out, but my main goal is to find the big fish, as I have some people wanting to get in the BLT Striper Tournament on the 31st, and if things do not get better for me, in the way of bigger fish, I do not expect to do that great.   We still have a few days left and if I can get out, I will be hitting it hard the closer it gets.  The Pottsboro Chamber is putting some sponsor money into the contest, and should make the payout somewhat better.   I really feel I can do better, and will keep everyone advised when I do.   Thanks for you comments....JD
