While fishing yesterday, I spotted 3 sea gulls.  They were not working but they were flying around looking at things.

Normally, I haven't seen gulls coming in until late September.

Maybe word spread to the coast that Texoma is overflowing with shad.  [smile]

I saw 15 or 20 today. Some were even working but not a bunch of stripers under them.

If my memory is correct, and it probably isn't, Prune Picker said the average date of gulls arriving was September 21st. Does anyone else remember the date?

Typically not until early October. This is way early

They were definitely gulls.  Not lyre birds.  One flew in real close.  His name tag had "Jonathon" on it.  [smile]
