I took my Falcon to Texoma Fiberglass last week. He is putting in a new floor, pulling out all of the old, water logged foam and replacing and putting in a new gas tank/hoses. Pulling off all of the carpet and redoing my side storage areas with glassed in wood. No carpet anymore, anywhere. Monday, I'm taking my trailer to 5 Star Trailers in Kingston. He is pulling off all of the old surge brake stuff, replacing springs, bushings, cutting off my old hitch and replacing it. Then, dipping the entire thing in acid and galvanizing it. After that, it will get all new rollers, LED lights and wiring, repacking all of the bearings and putting new tires on it. My truck is going in the shop on Monday also. I got a dent in it at the boat ramp back on July 4th weekend and just now have the time to get it fixed. I'm replacing all of the seat bases, new LED bait catching lights and wiring in the boat also. While all of this is going on, I'm having all of the upholstery re-done. Come March, I should have a solid and much lighter setup. I know the old, water logged foam, must weigh 2,000 pounds. My boat sits at least 5 inches lower in the water than other Falcons around me. I can't wait to see what the improved gas mileage will be. All of this to go with the new motor I put in it, back in October. All of this is still half the cost of a new boat, so I think I'm doing the right thing. Besides, I just can't find a boat I like better than my Falcon. She has her flaws but I love it. Now, I just need to work everyday for the rest of the year to pay for it. I'll keep you updated on the work that gets done and the quality of those repairs.

Wow. With all this and new engine you're basically building a new boat.

I need to have the exact same thing done to mine but it sure is hard to turn loose of the cash to have it done, especially for a recreational weekend fisherman like myself. Let us know how it turns out, maybe it'll motivate me to bite the bullet and have mine done.

Boat guy has been sick. I'm hoping to pick both up this week.
