As someone who has a boat at Highport I received a call from them saying the ramp and courtesy
shuttle would be shut down until at least Thursday may 28 . No reason given but I suspect a dock broke
loose as they have one that I know of so far.

That's not good.[frown] may be a long summer waiting to get back on this beautiful lake. I Was really looking forward to the top water action and just being able to fish all summer on Big T.

Yes, it will be a long wait. It has not stopped raining yet. We are well on our way to 40 days and 40 nights...

I read one of James Allen's posts and if I remember correctly he said it took 10 weeks to go from 644 back to 617,,,,,  It's almost 1 June........so the summer is gonna be tough on local businesses for sure.......

Pretty much the same as the government wanting to control our healthcare when they can't even manage the Social Security budget... [smile]

Ron "Prunpicker" was pretty big on not talking politics or religion! Not sure how Sunshine feels?

Was not aware that talking politics on this site was a no no as memory tells me it's been referenced in the past and don't remember it being an issue.  If Ron discouraged it then that's reason enough for me to avoid both areas as I do want to honor his wishes and play by the forum's rules! No problem here whatsoever now that I've been informed...

I keep a boat in "F" dock at Highport. Yes, that dock, and two others, broke loose Monday. I haven't heard anything from them other than yesterday, almost a week after the docks broke loose, and they did say they had closed the marina. Very disappointing they didn't even update boat owners about the docks breaking loose nor have they let us know the condition of our boats. I was able to reach an employee whose cell phone number I had and he said my boat is ok, I hope so. He said the place wouldn't be back to normal until November but docks would begin being put back in place today. What a nightmare.

Politics were discouraged by Ron and for a short period of time there was a "off-topic" area designated for that kind of discussion and a couple others. BIG mistake and was soon eliminated.
Unless Sunshine changes it, that's the way it's going to be

I'm about to finish my jon boat project.  I have a 77 model 16' el dorado with a new 15hp Yamaha 4 stroke on it.  Its been sitting for a few years. I bought it on a deal and until now haven't done anything with it.  I recently pulled it in the shop and started on the make over.  Almost done.  I'm putting the finishing touches on it today and then to the trailer.  Need new tires, bearings, and a little tlc then she's ready.  I'll post some B&A pics when I'm done.  I figure I can get the jon boat on the water just about any where.  Once the red settles I may give some river fishing a try with it.

It looks like my pontoon won't be getting much time on the water for a while.
