Hey guys I'm bringing the family down March 15-19 for spring break and would like to set some jugs for blues. Problem is I have never jug lined before and was wondering where a good starting point would be to make my sets. I would sure love to get the kids on a few fish . They have worked hard helping me get our jugs built the last few days and making homemade bait so i would really like them to have a good chance at pulling a few. I plan on setting jugs and letting them soak while we chase some stripers for a few hours then check around lunch and maybe again before dark. If it helps we are launching out of Buncombe Creek . Any help would be greatly appreciated and bring you great Fame & Fortune!!!
 Thanks Brian

Check back tomorrow, I will draw you a detailed map, and the time the fish will show up, what bait to use, and how to hold your mouth.

Bsmith,
I don't jugline so I probably can't be of much help. My only advice, and you have probably already considered this, is that if your bait is going to be out all day it has to be 'durable'. Best of luck.

Axman is an expert on jug-lining.  Ask him in an e-mail.  He does it quite a bit.

Thanks guys I have cut shad , hot dogs w/ strawberry jello and garlic & little smokies ( ax mans secret). Never been a cat fisherman so I didn't know if I should set in deep water( river channel) or flats. I will figure it out I have 4 days. I'll try and figure out how to post pics if we have success.

Have you been jugging yet?  How did you do?

This time of year the TX side of North Island is good.  Fish about 30 - 40 feet deep
