With the understanding that it is limited, is there a place on the Texas side to put a boat in? I know the primary ramps are all closed at this time what I am looking for is a temporary way to get out there. I have not had a boat to get out there for the past 3 years and got one finally 2 weeks ago. I moved back here for this lake and not getting out there is about to send me over the edge. And I can't tell you how much I have missed 6og. There is not a better group of people on the web. I am glad to be back.

Welcome back, I'm afraid I'm not much help other than to say that Cedar Mills is definitely not open.  Seems like last time Juniper West was one of the last to close and first to open.  I'm going crazy not fishing as well, last May my two sons and I all got our personal best striper.  After the 2007 flood, once we could get back into the marina, the fishing was excellent in the tree tops that were the islands.

Now that we know the Texas side has a semi open ramp...has anyone been out there the past few days that knows how baits have been and what the flood has the stripey fishes doing? Like I said it's been a while and god I have missed it. It's like I am 7 again going fishing with grandpa. Can't wait to get my 7 year old on his first over. But this weekend is to get out and see what's what so any help is appreciated.

I looked at Grandpappy on Tuesday.  The ramp is not actually available but they are letting people launch from the road that leads down to the ramp.  So, only one boat can launch at a time and the road is a little flat with the lake level at 639.  Might be a challenge to launch a large boat at this point.  Good luck!

Only a 16 ft with a 50. It's old and ugly but runs and floats. And that's all I ask her to do. Haha. I drove out there this afternoon when I got off work...it's not going to be the quickest place to put in but it beats not fishing. Now I just need to find baits and fish. Has anyone been over that way that can point me to a starting point? Last time I did this the lake was normal if not a bit low so I am flying blind.

Thanks for the info at GP.  I've got a pontoon so I probably won't risk it.  I don't want to make the trip and not be able to launch.  Or better yet get it back on the trailer.

I think I'll hit one of the smaller lakes in Fannin County and try to load the cooler with some crappie.  I'm thinking a summer fish fry sounds good real soon.

I haven't launched since the lake was at 634.  Don't know what the bait situation is like but I would like some info also.  I'm not going to launch until we get a little closer to a real boat ramp.

Any updates on where to launch or water conditions.  We've been coming to Texoma every year for Father's Day and are looking to cancel this year.  I was driving in from North Carolina, but we are now looking for an alternate location.  I was going to stay at Sheppard AFB Annex, but they haven't answered their phone since the flooding began.  Sure hate to miss out this year, it's been great in years past.  Thanks for any updates in advance, Semper Fi.

I put in at grandpappy point yesterday...it's a little tough to get in but it can be done. We ran into weather and didn't catch a thing but hey...beats working. And I am looking forward to getting our lake back to normal.
