My fishing buddy David and I hit the lake today. North wind was pretty chilly but we stuck with. The bite was good all morning. Lots of short fish but we scratched out a few. 14-20 fow on brush with chartreuse/black, hot pink/black jigs. Wind switched to southeast and the bite was done. Water temp is 62 degrees.

That's a funny picture. If it was in MN I would think you were ice fishing and that was your auger hole on the right side.

I just got this picture from my buddy up in International Falls where they were ICE FISHING Rainy Lake two days ago. He said they have been getting their limit every day (10). I no longer chase the crappie in winter up there. They are too deep to catch & release successfully. And I want to catch more than ten if I am going to be out in the cold.
Well maybe next winter I will have to give it a try for one day and have a fish fry. Can chase other critters once we limit out. But hard to convince my buddy to go look for bass when he is on crappie. But I do love to ice fish!
