Putting in a marine radio in my 22 ft nautical star center console. Any opinions at antenna type or length. Also where would be the best place to mount antenna. I have down riggers on the back portion of the boat. All info would be greatly appreciated.

I always used 8' whips with a folding base but that was on Lake Superior and I wanted to reach as far as possible out there. One for CB on port and one for Marine Radio on starboard to keep boat in balance. ;-)

4’ whip on the whaler, top of center console railing, have ratching mount so that I can lower it, to put the cover on. Have talked to Willow Spring’s from West Is. no problems many times.

Thanks that was what I’ve been looking at. Soon as this last knee replacement heals up I going down and mount the radio, downriggers , stereo, and a few rod holders on boat. I figure I should be able to get it done in a month or so. Or if my wife asks it takes between 1 and 2 months to get it all mounted
