I went out Friday evening on the lake and Saturday morning.  I did not even get a sniff, tried slabs, topwater, trolling, praying and begging.  None were effective at catching striper or even sandies.

Returned to boat slips and caught 4 nice crappie and 5 nice blue cats, watched college football on the deck with my rods out for cats and crappie.  Watched pro football on sunday, Cowboys were able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory once again.  Right before the rain started the blues hit all at once, got the nicest blue (8 lbs) right then, missed two more while fighting the 8 pounder and dropped my boat slip net into the water.

Not as exciting as striper but much more productive for me right now.  I heard that fish were biting on live bait out near cross point.  Saw a boat show, did not see many folks catching.

was down last week and got a few on cut shad. Had live and cut out and got most on cut shad, heads seems to do the best. Got on a school one time and got 10 in about 45 mins on lures, half overs and half good box fish.

I was part of the boat show at cross point Saturday and saw the same thing.  There were a lot of fish below, but out of 20-30 boats, I saw maybe 5 striper caught in a couple of hours.  I only caught one catfish.

I ended up spending the rest of the weekend casting towards the shores of coves and catching sand bass and small mouth.  That was a lot more fun than sitting anchored in 2 foot swells not catching striper.
