do you use weights? I catch more when they drift but got tired of losing them. Finally started making weights out of quikcrete and red solo cups

I use plastic 10 ounce kitchen glasses filled with quick crete.  I drill holes through the cup and pour the concrete in.  The wet concrete will form little teats and the concrete will not slide out of the cups.  The thick plastic glasses also protect the floor of the boat.

I used to use solo cups but they come apart too easy.

I put 60 to 70 feet of main line on my jugs so that the weight is always on the bottom.  I pull up the slack and do a half hitch on the PVC to make sure the PVC stays above the weight.  Letting it float off can cause the slack to get sucked into someone's prop.
