Academy sells lure paint, white base, add green if you want, look on YouTube, or just buy new ones, and use the lead for weights.

I've made many jigs over the years and settled on heating them and powder coating them. Would this work on slabs?

I ordered some powder coat and yes it worked on my slabs. It takes some work but I feel it's worth it. If I lose a factory slab its about $2.75, but if I lose one off mine its about $1.10. I tried it on Lake Palestine one day this week. I only caught two fish. 15" Black bass and a 16" white bass. Water conditions were flat, no breeze and HOT! It was my first time on that lake, but it was close to my fishing buddy so I went over there. I want to get out on Tawakoni where i know there's a lot of white bass and hybrids.
Thanks to all for your input!!!

Sorry, Rodbender54.....I've sorta been outta the loop for a month.

Yes, the suggestion on powder coating is a good one.  That's all I use anymore.

I use a lot of paint and when the EPA categorized vinyl paint as HAZMAT materials, the shipping fees went up by $50.  [frown]

So yeah, you are on the right track.

Try putting some foil on 'em and man, it'll get the fish to working even more!!

I spray paint old slabs black, and use them at night, and for no-snag catfish sinkers.
