I pour 1 ounce and 1.5 egg weights a lot.

Some folks have asked how do I get the weight off the mandrel after pouring...

A trick I have learned is to dip the mandrel into motor oil prior to pouring the molten lead.  It might get a little smoky in your shop but the motor oil sure helps pull the weights off the mandrel.

But I'd say Barbara

Candle wax works great.  I use the sooty kind to blacken the molds.
