Great day on the lake this morning. I was a little worried that there would be too much boat traffic today and there were lots of boats but it did not matter. It seemed the fish were almost everywhere. I put in at Eisenhower State Park and was on the water about 6:15am. I marked a lot of fish as I was leaving the marina but decided to head back to the butterfly cove area again anyway. After a slow ride to butterfly cove, I marked a few fish but not like in days past. No fish caught here this time. Moved on to toward the Dallas intake and marked some fish but did not catch any here. Moved on north to Little Mineral and there seemed like the entire Little Mineral arm was full of fish and a lot of surface activity. I fished all over Little Mineral and caught fish everywhere I stopped. Many schools on the surface at the same time. Most of the surface activity were small fish but the deeper I fished the bigger the fish got. I probably caught at least 35 fish total in Little Mineral. Headed back to Eisenhower about 10:00am and noticed some surface activity just outside of the Eisenhower cove area. Stopped and caught 3 or 4. Noticed some more surface activity towards the dam so I headed that way and made a couple of stops but when I got to the dam, the surface activity was everywhere. I stayed until 12:00 noon and probably caught 25 more fish. Most of the shad were small, 1/2" to 1" and anything that looked like one would produce fish. These were the best size fish that I caught all day, not huge but not 10" either. All fish returned to lake. Lots of fish in the dam area and all aggressive.
Another great day on the lake!!!
