After your extensive research on 'LilSmokies, did you notice any advantage to garlic, strawberry or regular? Inquiring minds may be making new jug lines!

I tried strawberry jello, LilSmokies just aren't working for me right now, when I am too lazy to get up and get shad prior to sun up, I have been "catching" large minnows at Sanduskies.  Those work much better than lil smokies in my non-scientific test.

Started jugging in March using half lye soap and lil smokies in jello. About equal results. Stopped using the jello though. That stuff is nasty, sticky and hard as hell to wash out of my the boat. Garlic worked just as well. At some point in April they quit biting on either and had to go with shad. Live or frozen worked well, frozen just easier to find and I was on vacation.

I ran 13 jugs last Friday afternoon and night on the Little mineral arm side of Preston point before the weather went heck.  Used little smokies because I'm terrible at finding/catching bait and didn't want to spend the money on Shiners (which have been working well for me).  I caught three small blues in about 30-35 FOW.  Not sure if it was the smokies, weather, a depth issue, or just that the fish have moved on.  Too many potential variables to be sure.

I have to say, I really didn't notice an increase using the jello.  What I'm doing now is using Lil Smokies and Bar S hot links.  I put them in a zip lock the night before and sprinkle them pretty good with garlic POWDER.

Like rbaker stated, the 'catching' has slowed.  But I'm still hitting 70% on 10 jugs.  I've moved out to about 40 to 45 feet right off the river ledges.

Catfish are being caught out west in shallower water but I ain't going out there.  Afraid I might get into water so muddy it'll plug my pee-hole.
