from all the reports from all the anglers on SOG website about the striper fishing on texoma. it sounds like we all need to take a guide in order to catch a striper on texoma or stay clear of taking a guided trip if the striper bite is in this condition. i sure hope we could hear of one positive striper report for a change.

Darin, (James Allen please chime in) I know a good many guides on Texoma.  From what I hear from them, it is hit and miss just like it is for us non-pros.  I've fished several days right next to guides and they were doing the same as I was....a few sand bass, a few catfish, and a striper or two.

It'll get better.  Right now, I think the stripers are just so scattered out.  If you find a school, they won't hesitate to hit.

I'm going to try and fish most every day next week and provide updates.  October is coming.  Maybe that is turn on month.

axman, i wasnt meaning anything bad about us anglers or guides. i was just commenting on the striper bite and how bad it sounds since the flood and merky water has slowly receded. i know that the striper bite will eventually pick back up. i bet when we start getting some colder weather and the water starts getting colder, they will finally group back up and start schooling a little bit better.

I'm going next week just to see how bad it is. Might be like at PK, where the stripers are scattered and I'm now catching crappie. I'll take those nice big Texoma crappie.

Oh, I know that! [biggrin]  I didn't mean to imply you were.  It IS BAD.  No doubt about that.

And yes, I agree with you, it will pick up.

The striper fishing sucks, it is what it is.

The good news is there are plenty of catfish
