Last coupla of times I put jugs out it's been famine.
Someone told me blues head up the rivers this time of year. Any truth to that? __________________ Axman http://www.reaxtionlures.com http://www.facebook.com/reaxtion.lures

I heard that as well. Here on RR the blues seem to follow the shad into the shallow flooded timber. 3 weeks a go i was killing them drifting in 35-40 fow. David i tried some drifting this week while sand bass fishing and never caught a blue.

I had my best luck fishing the upper parts of the lake in the winter. When the water reached 48 deg. seamed to be the best. I set the jugs in 20 to 15' unless a cold front arrived, then move to the deepest hole nearby, 40 to 50'. I understand that the blues move into the river in the warmer months. My bother caught a 67# blue on Friday.
