I recently purchased one of your packs for my father in law who is new to striper fishing.

Nice stuff....

They recently purchased a place at enos and loves to fish. I grew up on the lake as my family has a place on caney.

What fishing line do most use this time of year for stripers? I have Stren 20 and Stren 14 available (in my tackle now). The 20 seems to birdnest much more often! Think we can use 14? I would like some opinions, please. Any users of T line left? Can Tvline still be purchased?

I use Trilene big game . Usually 15 lb but in real cold conditions I use 12 lb.
Never have it break and my Palomar knot stays tied.

You should be fine with 14#. Just don’t try to horse a big ‘un in.

I am beginning to use 30# Spider Wire with mono leader for cold water.  Really sensitive combination.

Use surgeon's knot when using rods with large eyes.

Use double uni when using rods with smaller eyes.
