I to mostly fish for Black Bass or as some would say the big Sunfish.  I would greatly appreciate all the advise I could get.  How has anyone been successful fishing Umbrella Rigs through winter and early Spring?  I hear all about the great outings with them and I cant figure it out. Baits, Retrieve, Areas????????

When I added this area, I almost said "sunfish & green carp fish forum" but I figured some folks might get upset. [biggrin]

Tubebaits worked for me today-probably because I throw them so much.  Fished a med crank for awhile and nothing.  Fish are still shallow-
all my bites came in 5-15 ft.  Also caught a hugh drum-for awhile there I thought I really had something

Kirby - how do you work those tube baits in winter vs summer? Just slow rolling or slow jerks and pauses?

I just lift or pop them off the bottom and let them settle back down with that spiral fall.  With colder water I just work them slower.
