Went up to my parents place for Mothers Day. Fished off the bank on the OK side not far from the damn. Conditions were miserable and kept me off the bank most the entire weekend. I had maybe 2-3 hours of quality fishing despite being at the lake for two nights. When I did get a window of opportunity the bugs were unbearable and the rain and lightning would chase me off the lake after 30 minutes to an hour every time.  The lake was coming up so fast you could watch it rise. If it wasn't the ants jumping on me like a fresh carcass it was the mosquito's and horse flies. The insects really made conditions unbearable fishing off the bank and all my good spots were now so far away from the bank you couldn't reach them. You were better off on the water in boat or dock or in the water. Saturday water was very muddy, but had cleared up a lot by Sunday. Spotted a lot of gar and carp and one small bass around our private dock, which was the only bearable place to fish. Tried to fish out of the sea ray sunday morning at sun up, but it wouldn't start..... grrrrrrrr, probably a blessing in disguise as a huge storm blew in about 30 minutes later. At this point I would of been happy with a perch or two, but that wasn't to be had either. Looking forward to having my own boat on the water next time.

At least you gave it a good try, I caught a, nice cat below the dam once, but got eaten by the bugs. I was going out today but 18 mph wind is too much for me.

That storm Sunday blew away Rojo's boat storage which is about 200' east of me. Heard the wind and heard a big bang! Lasted about 90 seconds, must of dropped down right on top of us,

Yeah, that's gonna happen. Call my brother every time Moore gets slammed to ask if he's ready to move? Last Wednesday he said: "I'm close" [wink]
