I had a friend of mine visiting from Moscow, Russia and we booked a trip with Adventure Texoma Outdoors  - John Blasingame on December 30th.  John told us the afternoon bite was good and had us meet up at Noon.  When we arrived at the dock, John told us that the previous day was absolutely terrible and that he had been skunked.  We only had this one specific day to fish, so we told him we still wanted to go out and give it a try. Skies were blue, air temp was about 39 degrees and we were off.  We fished for about an hour and a half trying 4 or 5 different spots and techniques with zero success - nada.  John decided we needed to change things up, so we took off across the lake in search of birds.  We probably drove around another hour and a half glassing for birds in the binoculars and found a few groups here and there, but it was all birds and no fish.  We couldnt mark fish ANYWHERE on the graph either.  At this point, we had been in the boat for nearly 4 hours and were getting cold and a bit disappointed.  Clouds started rolling in which John said would be good for fising.  He then spotted a large group of birds and felt certain that there would be fish under this group.  He was right - WAY right!  We got in the middle of them and started landing 2, 3, 4 fish at a time - all 8, 10, 12# fish.  I was in awe as I have fished Lake Texoma my entire life and sure, I have caught some big ones but never so many, so fast.  This went on for almost 2 hours until dark never letting up.  We boated upwards of 70 fish and only one of those was under 20".  I caught my personal Texoma best at 17 lbs.  A real crappy day of fishing turned into memories of a lifetime.

My 17# Texoma Best (it was released after picture to fight anther day)

He will have some stories to go tell in Moscow!

Nice. Do they need any lures or bait tanks in Russia?
