Did well at Choctaw and headed out after to catch bait. About 4 throws got enough.
The next morning headed out at 6am to put my son on some catfish. Anchored up in 40' of water off Washita Point and it didn't take long. Live bait worked but cut bait was really where it's at. Ended up with 17 nice ones. Lake is still unsettled and not marking very many stripers. We'll see what next week holds.

I had the same experience this weekend. Cut shad was definitely the trick.

If you've ever left the Casino, to go catch Bait...you may be a redneck... That's a nice mess of Cat's, not too many to clean, but yet plenty to eat... Appreciate the report !!!

DCurt, man that is a good one! Jeff Foxworthy would be proud. Thing is I was winning and the poker table was ripe. Wife made me leave so add that to the mix. If your wife makes you leave the poker table while you are winning so you can go catch bait for the next morning fishing trip you both might be a redneck and your a very lucky man as she was holding my beer and shooting video of me catching bait all at the same time. That's a good woman right there!
