Fished from Wed. evening until Sat.  morning. Had one good evening which was Wed.  Didn't get out till about 4 or so and decided to try to catch a lmb or two on tops. Had had fair luck the week before from the bank doing that.  Well the first windy point I came to I started catching really nice sand bass and a couple of stripers on my small popper so switched to a striper size top.  Caught  4 or 5 ( 2 to 4 lbs or so). Left that spot and went to one of my old striper topwater places and lo and behold they were in there. Caught or at least had a blow up from about 5:30 until almost dark when I managed to get a hook thru my finger and had to call it quits. ( Little finger, small hook, nothing too much). Fun evening, biggest about 5 lbs or so.

So thurs morn I'm there before sunup looking forward to slaying them.  And I did catch 2. Only bites I had. Went back to the first place I was at Wed. and got no bites.   Rained out  thurs evening.

Fri. morning back to the same spot.  Caught 3.  3 bites between me and my son. Also caught 1 pretty nice spotted bass.  Tried some deeper humps and points Fri. afternoon and evening but no takers but what a pretty day.

Sat was pretty much a repeat. A couple early and then nada.  Think I made a mistake by sticking too long with the tops. Didn't try any traps or smaller swim baits.  Think they might have done better.

First time in quite a while I've had any luck on stripers. All fat and sassy, all released.  Used a papa dog and a saltwater pop r most of the time.  Don't have any idea where they went when they left the shallows, couldn't even catch a sand bass out on the normal places.  Water temps about 66-67 degress.
Best catching with the wind blowing into the points (like usual). At least some hope for some late fall action.
