got to jcre monday the 12th. launched and was on the west side of the danger bouy's where the washita meets the red river about 6pm. lots of surface action. we kept 4 nice fish. only hooked 1 small stripper. we fished slabs all week with 7\8 & 1oz slabs. tuesday 6:30 we were back and just as the sun hit the water the sandies were beating the top of the water. we had 5 keepers by 9am. later we went across to little mineral marina's asking about axman. i looked for the bulletin board hope to see a card posted by axman. no luck. tuesday afternoon 5pm we are back off the point. plenty of action and kept 4 nice sandies. wednesday am we were back and the action was 1\4 miles west in 20' of water. lot of guide boats there. talked to one of the guides who said the guy in the orange jacket was the lake guru and always seemed to know where the fish were. we followed him for a couple hours and landed 4 nice sandies. wednesday evening we were back off the point. there was sporadic surface action but no keepers. went east across the washita and north looking. lots of bait fish on sonar but no action.about a mile south of the RR bridge there is a cut 40' deep that runs north, south. we saw lots of bait so we drifted across the trench and i caught a 24" stripper on a chartreuse 7\8th oz slab. $1.49 @ walmart! thursday morning saw limited action. no keepers. went to breakfast and david went back by himself and caught 5 nice sandies. thursday morning it rained. david went home to anderson, mo. and we loaded the boat and headed home to brownsville. we had a good time on texoma. reminded me of my youth when we would drive up from dallas with a 16' aluminum boat and fish all week end and go home with 50 2lb sandies. ( that was before strippers were dumped in the lake).
