Decided to change for a weekend. RR has been a little slow so went to the Big Pond. Put in at Highport about 10. Checked a few spots, nothing really. Found some good marks around North Island. Had good day from then on. We boated 15. Got or overs and some box fish. Two biggest 8.2 & 11.5 lbs. like this dead sticking. Caught most on bubble gum flukes. 30-35 FOW.

I just ate a bag of bluegills I had for bait. They are better than striper to me. I could have saved thousands of dollars to just fish these fun fish.

In two more weeks, mid to late February. Longlining Thunderstick trolling will be more effective.

Ok thanks for the explanation. I have not tried trolling for Striper’s and that would not be my preferred method. Will live bait work at that time?
