Now that the COE is generating out of Denison dam is it possible to catch shad below the dam?  I've never been below the dam so I don't even know if it is possible to get close enough to the water to throw a cast net.  I'm from Tulsa and Keystone dam is a great place to catch shad but there is a ramp right down to the water and a sidewalk along the river.

Without a boat on the river it would be difficult to catch shad.  It's all rocks and broken up cement slabs and all kinds of junk below Denison Dam. There may be some isolated places on the OK side you could throw a net.  But the Texas side is all rocks and junk (if my memory serves me correctly).

I haven't been down there in years but the air boat guides would find shad down river and motor back up to the dam and slay the stripers.  I went out with Harold Speed a time or two.  I used to work on his truck and he took me out back in the early 90's on some horse tradin.
