After a long process of getting my big motor running again, we are ready for the big lake.
last two months limited to idling speed and TM to get around.  Not the ideal mix for Lady Texoma.

Will drop some jugs while we are bird watching😉

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I went out today. It was a good trip. I put some in the freezer. Turned a bunch back to grow up. It was beautiful, trolled from Platter Flats to west Burns Run. Stripers were chewing up our umbrella rigs, all along the way. Some times 2 or 3 at a time. Fun but no keepers. Took off one of those white 4" grubs and put a big ole shad colored deep diving crank bait, let out a lot of line and felt it bumping bottom in 20 to 25 FOW. Moved to 30 FOW, Thats when the fun begin! Rod Busters, Hogs! when you see shad on the scope, hang on. Sorry that I can't post the pictures. I am a Computer Dummie.
As for going tommorrow, the 4th, I'll be sitting in my poarch swing, watching all of those tourist covered with oil, pulling their jet skis, wasting away with a cold one.
Tip of the day, Keep your rod up and don't Hoss em.

Thanks for the heads up.  Usually avoid the lakes on the lake nat days😉 Planning on a day break start and a departure when the crowds show.
The only thing I didn't tie on was an umbrella rig. Looks like pole 11 will be added...
Roger that on the rod up and no hossing them in.  Got lots of line and plenty of time.
Still get excitied for my Texoma trips.

Went out yesterday, way too hot for me, Noon = zero fish. Thought I would try to smoke a drum, don't bother it was some nasty rubber. Tons of 1'' shad everywhere, I might scoop them with a net and light and go night crappie.

no beano.... If you were to ask the magic 8 ball, should I hit Texoma at 6 am on Saturday would I catch fish?  Shake it three times and give me the average response😉 As a back up question ask the 8 ball if you drank three beers what would you catch? Incorrect answers, buzz, jail time , or divorce.  Stay thirsty my fishing friend!

Well I bailed on Texoma due to the weather forecast. Launched on Lake Lewisville. Brim fishing in an empty slip waiting on the last cluster to go by.

Looking to try Lady Texoma this Friday and Saturday.  No rain in the forecast but they are saying a whole lot of heat.
