Hadn't been to the lake since spring. Went out about 5 p.m. Sun evening not expecting much from the reports. Had fished about 15 min. when I caught an 11.3 that just hammered a slab. Thought, maybe this wont be as bad as I've heard.  Well, as of Thurs. morn. I had caught 1 striper and 1 sand bass.
Had some motor issues so couldn't get to all of my spots but don't think it would've made much difference. Maybe when it gets cooler.  Never saw a single sea gull either.

Finally gave up and went bass fishing. Lots of bass to be caught but have to wade thru lots of little ones to get any size.  Any point early with top water and later on with baby brush hog.  Never did catch anything over about 3 pounds.  That was my week. Not much to report but really nice weather and enough action to have a good time if you weren't particular about species or sizes. Good luck to all.

One other thing, maybe its because of all the flooded vegetation but the lake color is not what it usually is this time of year. Not really muddy, but kinda stained brownish color. Looks more like Waurika this time of year.
