Needed 3 to have our limit. Took my cousin and his wife out the last 3 days. First 2 days we did ok on small fish. But today was better. She caught her first striper over 20" today and a bunch more unders. Bouncing slabs off the top of the water at ouachita point. Great day on the lake.

Sounds like a great day of fishing! I haven’t had much luck catching fish between 15 and 20” but plenty of luck on the 21-30” fish!

What is bouncing slabs off the top mean? Haven't had much luck at Texoma. Thanks for the help in advance.

Hold rid tip high and reel fast so the slab will bounce across the surface. Tie a teaser above it and catch 2 at a time. Then when they go down you can slab for them. Has worked for me for a few years now.

Is there a specific slab you use for that technique?

Not sure what brand,. Chartreuse with white worked good. Chrome worked pretty good to.I think when they are on top color doesn't matter as much. Haven't gotten the jigging slabs up and down figured out yet but I am getting better every trip.

We found schoolies over by Eisenhower bit they were moving so fast it was hard to catch up to them. Decided to thump instead and caught 5 with only box fish right at 19 and overs from 24-28”.

When you pull out of the Eisenhower ramp area, turn right and follow the signs. Really nice closed in space with lights, water, boards, concrete floor and table, and you leave the remains. It is about a mile or less from the ramp.

Thank you so much! I will check it out next time! Fish remains make for a smelly garbage can!

Mike was scouting where to launch his kayak from. I told him up by the dam based on your thread. If you pm me your contact info, I can hook you two up... have never tried a thumper in a kayak but it should work!
